Many elements of Álvaro Lafuente point back to his roots, starting with the diminutive of his stage name, which flows from the Aragonese village of his grandparents. Or that inseparable acoustic guitar that also baptized him. That’s why the sophistication he now embraces takes on a special dimension in his music: fascinating and seductive.
The Guitarrica of today graduates with an extreme originality—the very same that makes him one of the most promising artists of the new decade. In 2022 he released La Cantera, his debut album. With songs that no longer emerge directly from the six strings, but instead undergo a careful creative process and are reinvented in the studio.
It is a new Guitarricadelafuente, yet still the same. The one with that deeply personal style that made him break through with the homemade El conticinio (2018), now unafraid to flirt with electronics and urban sounds.
